Carrot Cake Porridge
15 February 2023The oatsie way to get those extra nutrients into your diet.

Ingredients
- 30 - 60g oats porridge (rolled oats are good if you like a bit more texture)
- ½ to 1 grated carrot
- 80 - 120ml milk
- 1 teaspoon ground walnuts (or a dollop of smooth 100% peanut butter will do)
- 1 small pinch of cinnamon
- 1 small pinch of mixed spice
Optional extras
- A sprinkle of chia seeds to top
- A little grated apple or a small handful of raisins
- A dollop of plain / natural yogurt
Method
- Add the carrots to a pot and heat slightly for around 30 seconds.
- Add the oats and milk to the pot and heat slowly on medium heat for a couple of minutes.
- Add the nuts / nut butter and the cinnamon and spice (and apple / raisins if you are using), mix well and let cook.
- Once the porridge starts to get thick and gloopy and all the ingredients have combined, remove from the heat and place in a bowl.
- If you are adding the optional extras (always good if you are trying to get extra nutrients into a baby’s diet), stir in the yogurt now and sprinkle the milled seeds on top.
- Once the porridge has cooled, it’s ready to serve.
